Strengths
Juan Soto is one of the two or three most valuable fantasy assets in baseball — elite OBP, consistent power, and a track record of producing even in his off years. A league championship in year one is not an accident, but what separates Jacob from a lucky inheritor is what came around Soto: enough roster depth to actually win a title rather than just anchor a contender. Taking over an expansion roster and immediately competing at the highest level requires more than a franchise cornerstone — it requires the waiver instincts and draft discipline to build something functional around someone else's team.
Weaknesses
One season of data makes the banshee's structural weaknesses nearly impossible to identify — every franchise looks competent after hoisting a championship in year one. The real danger is complacency: title rosters can age faster than expected, and each draft is a fresh opportunity for catastrophic whiffs (see the Mega Rats in 2024, the Space Cowboys in 2025). The Banshees also carry the league's youngest keeper pool, meaning less proven track record of sustained production and more question marks heading into each spring. How Jacob handles being the hunted instead of the hunter in year two will tell us whether this is a dynasty in the making — or a more successful Golden Knights.
