Strengths
This team's depth is genuinely remarkable. Jordan Walker, CJ Abrams, Carlos Correa, Max Muncy, Riley Greene, and a deep outfield are all producing at high levels — the Emus are winning right now almost entirely without their superstar. When Shohei Ohtani returns to full two-way production, this roster becomes the most well-rounded in the league. Ben has also quietly assembled a bullpen that may be the deepest in the CBA, with Helsley, Erceg, Wrobleski, and Sewald all logging useful innings.
Weaknesses
Nick Lodolo and Spencer Schwellenbach — two starters this team was counting on — have both been zeros so far, leaving the back of the rotation vulnerable. That's a significant hole to paper over, and if the pitching depth gets tested further by injury, the Emus could find themselves relying on a rotation held together with wire and hope. Last year's name change from Shureburds to Emus was due to an emu sighting on the Delmarva Peninsula. This temporary name change ignited a six-game win streak, and so the Shore Boyz hoped they could ride this to different fortunes come playoff time. Unfortunately, a Shureburd can't change its feathers. 3rd place again!
